I believe in growth over grades, that not all geniuses are 'A' students; I am a Hufflepuff or a Gryffindor depending the online quiz; I am a huge fan of blended learning & CBL; guiding kids toward communicative fluency and proficiency in language AND CULTURE; and ensuring high levels of academic and social achievement for their personal success! On the side, I also do...education. :)

As an Innovation Lab School Ambassador, I've been working on the launch of a new Innovation Lab School in San Aguas Calientes, Guatemala the first week of August, bringing quality education and technology to an impoverished education center. I love teaching refugees via Skype, ranging from science to leadership classes. In the meanwhile, I've founded Radio Schools, classes heard on the radio, bettering access to education in the most impoverished places in the world. My 5-year goal is that anywhere in the world where there are radio waves, a child can attend school, (at night after a long day helping their family earn wages, in the middle of nowhere, during wartime when schools are closed, when there are no teachers to assign to a classroom, etc.). You could say, I'm an education junkie. I believe in the power of education to transform communities and improve the quality of life.

In my spare time (driving in the car, or watching the kids at their sports practices), I love listening to podcasts (Serial, Criminal, This Is Love, This American Life, etc.), and watching documentaries. I'm very blessed to have a wonderful husband, a boymom of 3 boys, 2 of them are seniors this year, and 1 who likes to invent new ways to play jokes on me; ask me about them sometime if you want a good laugh.
